I don't know if fellas give thier secret recipies or not but I'm trying to find a good load for my .308 model seven. It will be used for hunting. Probably will never see a shot over 300 but I still want as much accuracy as I can get. I can't help it! Here are the powders I have in stock.
H4831
H4831 SC
IMR 4831
Varget
IMR4064
Ram Big Game I will be hunting whitetails. Thanks in advance!!

Most will probably say Varget. I personally like 4064. I use a lot of it. I use what the website uses. Start there and work your load up from the min load. I don't like giving out my specific load. It's not that it's s secret it's just a hot load that's good in my rifle.

The thing is, each gun specifically has it's own "secret" load. Even two guns, same model one behind the other off the manufacture line. They will have different loads the like.

Forget all three 4831's.

Way too slow for the .308 Win.
Varget and 4064 are promising.

You should buy a load manual or two and see what they suggest.
