Loading gate on Marlin 1894 is... floppy

I had to disassemble my 1894 to fix a jam. I have not yet reassembled it. The loading gate is floppy and does not make a good fit with the hole in the frame. Is there a spring that is supposed to hold it tight?

There is no spring...

It is held in place by the small screw on the right side of the frame.

It should tighten right up when you tighten the screw. Be careful on to over tighten.
