Does anyone here load their own tracers? I'd love to know things like where you get the jackets, how you load them/seal them, what color tracer, etc.

Does anyone here load their own incendiary rounds? I've heard of a few people loading them before, I don't know if that is true or not.

Yes, I load my own tracers, but I don't load incendiary because it costs too much. I know folks who have and I have seen them being shot in .30 and .50BMG. They're interesting, but not enough for me to pay more. I buy tracers and AP pulldown for fairly cheap.
For a little more information on the military loads do an internet search for
TM 43-0001-27 or "Army Ammunition Data Sheets". It's usually available as a 1.5Mb .pdf file. I'd attach it,but it's too big for the servers here to handle in one post. It's the army ammo load data manual. Note that the powders listed in it are NOT cannister grade powder that you buy commercially. However, some of those bulk powders ARE available on the market. Treat it as interesting information that gives you a vague idea of comparative load data and bullet options, NOT as a source of accurate data.

No one that I know mixes their own tracers. .223 and .30 tracers are only about .10-.12 apiece if you buy them from the right sources at gunshows or online.

Was thinking about this myself tonight. Pat McDonald does list tracers on his website: Pat's Reloading

I have bought M-856 tracer bullets and loaded them in 5.56x45mm. Also resized them and load them in 5.45x39mm.
M-62 tracers in 7.62x39mm.
All have traced 100% and I got the tracer bullets from
