So yesterday I went to my father in laws (gun smith) and received my stripped lower that was ordered in dec. well the local sheriff and a detective was there getting stripped lowers. Gun confiscation got brought up and the sheriff stated there would be no participation in this county of any gun confiscation, Thank god I live in Indiana!

i live on the other side of the ohio river from ky, we must be close :). I can say makes me feel better even though I doubt they can ever get a full US gun confiscation to go through.

My county sheriff is a former neighbor and we used to shoot together. I worked to get him elected. He knows me and he knows what guns I have. I don't think he would come to get anything I have without calling first. We had the conversation and confiscation ain't gonna happen here. He believes bad guys shouldn't have guns and everyone else should.

Ours had his picture on the front page of the local paper saying about the same thing other decent sheriffs are saying. He's an ex WV State Trooper and on his last term as sheriff plus I believe he is a man of his word.

The antigunners are not going to go door to door, gathering people's guns. They're too smart for that. All they have to do is enact certain laws, be patient, and wait for gun ownership to wither on the vine.

I hear a lot of cops tell me they'd never participate. If the law made unregistered AR's and AK's illegal and a cop pulls you over and finds one you bet your butt he's not going to just look the other way. I asked them, 'so if you found an illegally sawed off shotgun or home made suppressor during a traffic stop you'd just let them go?' when they say no I say so if these "AWB" laws pass it will still be confiscation just in a different form. They're just another restriction like the NFA.
