My local Wally World has Colts, Sigs and Bushmaters. A couple are even already tacticooled out with forward grips, quadrails and MBUIS sights. It's cool to see them mixed in with the Savages, Remingtons and Winchesters.
I'd be careful on some of the wally world stuff.
But do they have bayonet lugs? Or are they neutered?
I questioned a LGS by me about the ARs in Walmart. He explained to me that they were inferior made to meet a price point. Of course he then went on to have a conversation
with some other shoppers he apparently knew and spewed off some racist remarks that made me sad to have entered the doors of his shop.
The Wal-Marts in Alaska do, in fact, sell handguns. As does Fred Meyer.I demand evidence of this Handgunsquatch!
Bayonet lugs are a funny thing. If it wasn't for the AWB calling them out by name, I suspect very few people would care. It's like the "It is the prohibition that makes anything precious" quote. In 2004, makers were cranking out and everyone was buying guns with bayonet lugs like nobody's business. 8 years later, there are fewer and fewer ARs with bayonet lugs. Why? Not because they are "neutered", not because of legislation, and not because they are trying to be "PC"; it's because it turns out that not many folks really care about them.Does it matter if they have bayonet lugs??
Bayo lugs were tied to grenade launchers IIRC, so I think that's part of the reason...a stupid reason, but a reason nonetheless. It's..slighlty..lease silly when presented vs a fear somone going on a mass bayonetting spree.Bayonet lugs are a funny thing. I suppose we are just lucky the AWB didn't mention rhinestone covered handguards.
Sing it with me!
With a rhinestone A R
Riding out on a horse with star-spangled hand guard yo
With a rhinestone A R
Getting looks and snickers from people I don't even know
And mockin' comin' over the phone
My apologies to Glen.
Whhaaaaaaaa???......our local Wally-World here in the Lehigh Valley of Pa. Another customer and myself just looked at each other in surprise. We talked about how surprised we were at the store going more mainstream with this item. Glad to see it's going on across the country.
Mine does too!! I was kinda shocked to see a .308 DPMS Sport Ar- (10) myself...at first I thought it was a price tag for a .308 rifle of some sort, then I HAD to take a closer look, I said screw it, walked behind the counter to take a real close look, sure enough there it was ... Same price $899...My local one has a DPMS .308 sporter for $899(ish). Not a bad deal if I needed to add another caliber to the lineup.
Route 248 between Nazareth and Palmer.
they make you wait 30 days to pick up your gun!
