Spectacular gun. I have often wondered how strong the 607 truly is, and if it would hold up with loads approaching ‘max range. I won’t try it, but I suspect it would. If it holds the .360 then it should hold an insane magnum. Not that I advocate doing it, I’m just glad to see that’s others have leaned on a Taurus. My one of a kind Taurus M607-8SS. The M607 was a seven-round predecessor to the eight-round M608. It was only produced for two years was not available with the 8 3/8" barrel. My revolver is actually the M607 assembled crane/cylinder & action installed in an M608 frame. The reason for the build is the cartridge that it uses; the .360 Dan Wesson. Both the M607 and M608 cylinders are long enough to handle the .360 DW, which is 1/8" longer than the Magnum, but the seven round cylinder has more metal around the chambers to better handle the higher pressures the .360 DW operates at.
