Finally got my first box of 30 Carbine put up. Special thanks to @GeoDudeFlorida and @KY DAN for helping a brother out getting components together. I started getting materials together back in '18....finally got it together. 20211220_192354.jpg

Armscorp 110fmj, a little hourglass, but I've tested the load, they fire just fine

14g H110, 1.655 COAL...the blunt profile of the Armscor bullets require seating a little shorter than milspec in my chamber

Well there you go, 1 down, 19 more to go. Then I can get started on a short run of soft points. And then I may even get around to getting a mold sometime before 2028;)

Way to go!
Now we need a range report ;)

You have some nice looking rounds, how do they shhot?
During the work up, this combo worked very well out of my early pattern Plainfield. Between my dad and I, we now have 3, the Plainfield, an early Universal, and a '44 Winchester. Hopefully, right after New Years, we can get all 3 out on the range. I have new recoil springs, and a handful of new mags coming, so once everything comes in, I'll get the chrono out and get some range photos. Thats going to be a fun day:)

Awesome

Love my .30 Carbine
A very under appreciated round. Would love to see Ruger make a Carbine.
^^^^^This......I would love a new production Ruger carbine. I'd also like a Ruger Three-Zero pistol. Something like their Fifty Seven in 30 carbine, seeing as how AMT and the Automag III isn't coming back any time soon. I'm a sucker for big fireballs....

I gotta say....30 Carbine is an all together different animal than any of the pistol cartridges I've loaded thus far. Just more involved, and got to stay on my toes a bit more. Between sizing, trimming and lubing cases, there's just a few more steps in the prep. Its not bad, just slower. I always try and approach any job with the intent to do it right the first time, because as my old boss once said, "No sense in rushing thru the job....there always seems to be enough time to do it right the second time"....Except in reloading....reloading you always have to do everything right every time...or you run the risk of having to do it right the second time without the use of all your fingers;)

I need to do the same. I have plans and money right now but no time. Plans change and money burns so we will see where I’m at next year…

they look good. The hourglass is not desirable but it works and I have shot lots and lots of hourglass pistol brass without issue, so no worries.

No time like the present.

The price is a little higher than they were a couple years ago, but I doubt they'll get much cheaper anytime soon.

It's designed to use a gas check, but I mostly shoot them powder coated without checks over a light load of 2400.

The brass stretches less than full power H110 loads, plus it's a lot easier to find when it drops right next to you.

Congrats
Reloading is the "indoors" part of shooting. Very enjoyable.
Very satisfying....
Now cast your own bullets and it's even better.

FYI
My dad's cousin lost an arm to polio. He hunted everything from jackrabbits to elk with his M1 carbine. I know for a fact that he killed some elk with it.
