Hello all. I've been looking at a Norinco 87 lever action for something different at the trap range, but I think I'll need something better than the 20" barrel it ships with.

Does anybody know if a barrel swap is possible? I assume that you might be able to swap with an honest-to-goodness 1887 Winchester barrel, but that's a little pricey. Possibly other Winchester or Norinco shotguns? I'm looking for something between 26-30".

Failing that, anybody know where I can buy one that ships with a longer barrel?

This doesn't help but they do come with longer barrels. I've seen them sold in germany with 26" (or there abouts) barrels. So they should exist. In Canada I believe they are most commonly sold with 22" bbl's while in the US they are sold via IAC and with 20" bbl's.

I am not a huge fan of Chinese guns but a 26" improved cylinder or Modified choke barrel would push me to the brink of purchasing one of these guns.

Any Norinco 87/ Winchester 1887 owners out there who have both and are willing to find out if a barrel swap is possible?

I am dying for an 1887 sometime. It was THE gun I was waiting for an entire year. But all stocks where empty everywhere. So I got my 870 and now I find myself wanting a shotgun less and less, but some day I will get that 1887.

I was however under the impression that barrels on 1887s are permanent fixtures?

Here it is by the way:
