I'm using 158g LSWC bullets and Titegroup powder shooting through a S&W model 66 .357 magnum revolver.

I have the Hodgedon load data for standard 38spl (3.2-3.8g, 15400cup) and 357 mag (3.5-5.0g, 24,900cup)

I cannot find a 38 spl +p recipe to go with them - anyone have a resource they can point to for me?

thanks!

Titegroup is not a good powder for +P .38 Spl.
Thats why Hodgdon doesn't list it.

Lets say you have a bowling ball (bullet) you want to move faster.
Would you hit it as hard as you can with your fist? (fast burning Titegroup power)
Or shove it with the palm of your hand (some other medium burn rate powder)

The object of +P is to get all the velocity you can at safe pressure.
So you would be better served with a slower powder like Power Pistol, HS-6, Unique, etc.

Or, use the .357 data you have in .357 cases with Titegroup.
The 4.5 grain starting load will just about match .38 Spl +P velocity & pressure.

With the appropiate bullet type, powder type +P data is readily available. My personal powder choices for P 38 spcl. would be HS6 or Longshot, but there are a number of acceptable other's for this application.

Regarding jacketed bullets that are acceptable for +P applications, I have recently discovered the Nosler bulk pack a pretty decent deal at around $32 per 250 ct..

Hogdon's reloading pages will have a fair amount of +P data to meet your needs. Oh, when you go to their site you'll notice +P data is listed exclusively and not mixed with standard 38 spcl. recipe's.

Just like rcmodel said!

To get max speed you need a slower powder.
If you don't know what powders are faster/slower, just do a search for powder burn rate.
