I have a heap of Bullseye from back when the powder shortage happened, it was all I could get to keep my 625 running. I know its not a good 44 Mag powder but I had some ammo from and old friend that was 6 gr of Bullseye under a 265 gr RNFP lead bullets in 44 Mag. It is a really pleasant load to shoot. It makes about ~850 fps from my 6.5-inch M29 and ~1000 fps from the 16-inch M92. Make the steel go ping nicely
My brother and I shot up the last of that batch yesterday. I have lots of Bullseye, a fair number of empty brass (currently in the tumbler) but I don't have an appropriate bullet. So what I am looking for is an ~265gr coated lead bullet. The RNFP would be my desire bullet shape for good feeding in the lever gun but this will be primarily plinking/varmint ammo other shapes would be considers. Price being an important factor but you get what you pay for so its not the only consideration. I would like to avoid un-coated lead from simple cleanliness. -thanks
PS: Remington UMC 180gr JSP 44 Mag is obnoxious from a revolver. The muzzle flash is crazy from a 6.5 inch revolver.
