For my .243 this rifle will be use for 100 - 200 yards for coyotes and if I'm lucky enough for wolves also! and maybe some white tails also.

The scopes I'm looking at are vortex,Burris & Nikon. either in 3x9 x 40 or 50mm
4x12 or more power.

Jack;

I think your magnification and size specs are good. But what's the budget? That would help a great deal in making informed advice.

All three companies sell scopes that size in the same price range. They are all made in the Philippines. They might all be made in the same building. As far as picking one, you might as well go by what you can find a deal on, or which reticle you like best.

If you're going to be hunting at night, in a situation where you can use 8X or so, the 50mm would be advantageous.

My yote shooter has a 3-12 Bushnell 4200 Tac on it. Ill reticle is green and turns down low enough to use it under moonlight. Worth looking at.

I got a LNIB Leupold 4x compact for under $200 a couple months ago. In my mind for the distances you are talking that is nearly perfect. Quality and light weight.
I have this set up on a couple lightweight Rugers in 243 & 30-06
