Found a Stryker in 22-250....was hoping for 223 but it's $395 and looks

Is that a good price?

That's a fair price if it has no scope. If it has scope the price would range from good to great, depending on the brand/model of optics.

Local shop had a nice used one in their consignment rack last summer. IIRC... it had an inexpensive Simmons scope, and an asking price of $595. It took a few weeks, but it finally sold. Knowing the shop well, I'd guess selling price was right at $500.

My 308 wears a Bushnell 2-7X trophy and has been thru alot of abuse. Think I paid about 165 for mine. 22-250 you may be fine with a NcStar. I've used them on bigger and badder.

Since you're a Contender fiend - I saw a Contender variant chambered for .243 Winchester - even shot it 3 or 4 times. Since I'm not knowledgable about all the Contender variations I would have to get educated on what components to use to put one of those .243s together. Maybe you can offer some enlightenment ?

Here's one for sale in 22-250 - Burris 2+7 handgun scope & rings.

My gunsmith tuned the trigger - also got case to carry it in. @ 200 rounds shot thru it.

450.00.

That would be on an encore frame, the old contender and the newer G2 frames can't handle the 243 without stretching. I haven't bothered with the encore frame yet, I have the 308 striker for anything that really needs killing. Encore is an interesting platform tho'. I know a few guys shooting things in them that are just stupid. Anyone wanna shoot a 416rem pistol?
