Looking for an AR-15 recoil pad

What option are out there for recoil reducing stocks/recoil pads for big bore AR-15 rifles. I got a chance to shoot a 450 bushmaster today and I really liked it other than the recoil

Get something like a magpul stock with a solid but pad/plate then if you need it toss on a limb saver.
That's what I did for my 12ga with AR style stock.

The Adaptive Tactical EX stock is the best that I've found for ARs that pack a punch. By doing some shopping around, I've always been able to find them for less than $30.

Another vote for the Adaptive Tactical, seen here on my Encore. It tames the recoil from a 150 gr pyrodex charge pushing a 250 gr bullet and equally effective when swapped with the .300 Win Mag. barrel.

Limbsaver makes pads for most Magpul stocks. Two screws and swap the solit butplate. I put one on my CTR stock when I got my 450 upper. They are not as thick as the pad on the Adaptive Tactical.

If you are using a carbine buffer tube look at Fab Defense. They make two recoil reducing butt stock for AR carbine tubes. The GL-Shock and the GL-Core each in a few configurations. The GL-Core is new but I have a GL-Shock that I have used on 450 Bushmaster and 30 Remington AR and it take the bite out of the recoil very nicely. Both use a mechanical springs to spread the recoil impulse out over slightly more time taking that peak force out of the coil impulse making it feel much more pleasant. I find it works better than many recoil pads. That said I have stock with a Remington Super Cell recoil pad currently on my 450 Bushmaster and it works really well too, unfortunately with the break up of Remington/Bushmaster/DPMS that stock and recoil pad are no longer available.

Among others, for this 450 BM, I use this Luth-AR MBA-2 full rifle stock with Limbsaver universal medium sized slip on pad.

He stock is the lightest rifle stock on the market for the money and that is why I chose it.
