Hey everyone, I have a1st Gen Ruger Security Six with 2 1/2" barrel. Am looking for a rt hand concealed carry holster, sm of the back. Does anyone have any suggestions? I live in a small town and there is not a large selection to choose from.

Darin Brinkley

I just Googled the info and came up with CraftHolsters.com which listed a small of back leather holster for a 2 3/4" Ruger Security Six for $68.95. I think looking around on the internet would turn up a number of other choices as well. Since the Security Six has been out of production for so long you might also want to consider holsters for the 3" GP100 model. Won't be an exact fit but might work out okay.

Safariland/Bianchi has been around for many many years. I'm sure they will have something for your Security Six snub. I don't EDC my 4" Security Six, a mid 70's model, but I do have a Bianchi basket weave utility holster that's as least as old as the pistol and it fits it just fine.
You might give a look at Braids Holsters. I have a couple of their small of the back holsters for my Ruger LCR's. Prices are decent also.

SOB holsters sitting on your spine are not a good idea.

I've had a Security, Service, or Speed Six since 1974. Nearly all K frame holsters work with the Rugers. Security type holsters for a K frame dont work as a rule. A GP100 holster is way too big. L frame and GP100 holsters are generally interchangeable with the same parameters.

Not a SOB holster but I like the DeSantis Speed Scabbard.

Thanks everyone, more toward the pocket. Mainly want a holster that is snug to the body. I'm using the duty style that I got over 40yrs ago. Thought I would get one more stylish.

The Speed Scabbard holds the gun tight to the body. I usually wear it at 3 o'clock. I've been using them over 30 years.
