There are numerous marks/stamps/cartouches on my M91/30 that I will never figure out but there are two in particular that I am really curious about. Maybe someone knows the answer right off.

First the rifle is a M91/30, Tula 1935 HEX, all numbers matching, laminated stock.

The first stamp is a Diamond with a K in it. It appears in numerous places on the rifle and all are the same size for all practical purposes.

The second stamp is more complex. An incomplete triangle or even a V check symbol with an arrow in it and looks like its a Izhevsk mark. Strangely the arrow on several of these does not point in the same direction. If it is a Izhevsk mark what is it doing in several places on a Tula with matching numbers. I.E. No assemblies swapped out with a Izhevsk part such as the bolt or magazine. This symbol does not show up on the barrel or receiver.

At first I suspected that it was refurbished at Izhevsk but others have told me these were only refurbished in the Ukraine. Reference the collage of pictures below.

Thanks in advance for any information. As you can see I love to try and trace it's history through it's cartouches.

If interested the link below is to a little web site for this rifle with lots of pics and misc. information.

P.S. A M91/59 1938 Tula, all matching, is on a UPS truck someplace headed this way also. These MoSEEN's do like to proliferate.

The markings indicate a 1935 Tula with matching parts save for the Magazine Tang and a Laminated Stock. The Box with the line through it is the refurb mark. Frankley surplus rifle won't help as much as 7.62x54r.net web site especially the Proofs & Markings page found there!
