I have had 2 lyman pro magnum 2500 for about 3 months now and my second one that they sent me after the first one failed has just taken a crap. Lyman says that they have one in their office that has been running for the last 2 years and to be completly honest have seeing their reliability in my house i just dont believe it. I need some ideas as I am cleaning about 10,000 peices of brass a month. Im not even gonna give lyman another chance to replace it. It is too much of a hastle to send mine back and then wait for them to send me another one.

Has anyone tried this. I wanna build one but I cant find a pump motor like that with out spending an arm and a leg.. here is the youtube link..

I need the threads of the motor to be below where I would mount it.

Thanks
Chris

I think the $50 tumbler from Cabela's maybe an easier and still durable option. It will hold 650 .38Spl cases compared to 1000 for Lyman 2500.

You might think about getting one of the small cement mixers from Harbor Freight. There's a lot of guys that use them.

Were you running the tumbler on carpet? I know my Cabela's tumbler has the air vents on the bottom and I only run it on the cement floor in my basement.

Check your local pool or spa store for used take-off stuff. I asked once for an obsolete pump to go with my old pool-on-a-spa motor. They came out with a box of pieces and they found the perfect impeller. I'm sure they had obsolete motors if I had asked. But I've saved motors all my life.

I'm currently trying to adapt a spare garbage disposal motor for some other hobby use, and a less than stellar 1/2 horse swamp cooler motor for anything. Maybe I should hook up my junk Lyman 2500 I have here. lol

I have to second the Dillon - I have a Dillon CV-500, but the new CV-750 & CV-2001 have the newer and much heavier motors (made to Dillon's specs to avoid the problems of the Mexi-motors that failed con regularidad). I don't need the CV-2001 as I don't do that much brass but I think this is the one you should consider ( http://www.dillonprecision.com/#/co.../Dillon__039_s_CV_2001_Vibratory_Case_Cleaner ). Read the description - I'm sorely tempted to get one just because it's the Boss Hogg of the vibatories... :scrutiny:
