I'd like to get a pretty solid, relatively non-rattly collapsible AR stock in the 50-100$ range. I'd prefer something that will accept a fairly cheap cheek riser, or has one built in. It doesn't have to be the whole kit with buffer tube and such, but I'd like it better if it was. Any recommendations towards fairly inexpensive stocks that have served you well are welcome. I'd also be interested to hear about anything that's just junk and should be kept away from. Thanks alot.

Magpul CTR but the add on riser will interfer with the charging handle.

Thanks all. Seems like most AR stocks dont get along well with a cheek riser. Oh well. I reckon I just get a magpul and maybe that fancy sliding cheek riser for it down the line, if I need it.

If you have a flat top receiver, there is really no need for a raised cheek rest unless you're talking about mounting a high-magnification scope with a very large objective lens -- in which case you're barking up the wrong tree looking for low cost collapsible stocks! There is such a variety of optics mounts that you can get your optic at pretty much whatever height you want, to fit just about any jaw/face size.

FYI I have the Magpul CTR on mine, and while I like the friction lock feature, it is more for peace of mind than anything... my buddy has the plain old MOE, which is pretty much the CTR without the friction lock and QD swivel socket, for about half the price, and it doesn't have any wobble either. For that matter, those Vltor Modstocks don't have any wobble either... that deal DoubleTapDrew posted would be pretty hard to beat if you want a stock with storage tubes. The MOE/CTR has no storage, but is a little lighter weight.

Yeah, the cheek riser was more for versatility. Not something I expect to need right away, but might need down the line. I noted the other options, and I'm sure they're very good, and I might get them on a future build. But this is my first build, so I think the best plan is to go along with the both good and popular options in case I run into any problems.
