My late great grandfather re-barreled what I believe is an old High Wall action, with a homemade
bull barrel, chambered in .22 Hornet. (The barrel was a Ford axle in a previous life). He added a handmade copy of a 1 piece Redfield (I think) scope mount. Topped it with a Weaver J4 scope.
The scope died about 15 years ago. It would be nice to get a "period correct" replacement. But for the cost of a refurb, I could get a really nice scope. I need your advice on fitting this piece of 1940's history. I need advice on scope height and eye relief. It beckons a Leupold......or maybe a Crimson Trace(lol).
