I am shooting a 308 with 22 inch barrel and 1:10 twist rifling. Looking to get the lightest bullet a 1:10 can stabilize for p dogs and coyotes. I have had success stabilizing the 125 gr but was wondering if anyone has shot 110 gr out of a 1:10 twist with any success. I was specifically looking at the hornady v-max 110 gr.

Way back when, I loaded Hornady 110-grain spire points with 3031 as a varmint load for my 1917 Enfield. Right at one MOA with a K2.5 on top. My eyes were better, back then. :)

I even had acceptable groups with 80-grain swaged .32-20 bullets at near 4,000 ft/sec. Micro-grenades on jackrabbits.

110's do very well out of a 1/10 30-06.

Very explosive on coyotes!

IF they fly straight out of a 1:10 30-06 I imagine they should do great in the same twist 308. Time to start developing a new coyote load for this winter.

I've loaded quite a few 110's for 1/10 twist 30-06's with good results. Speer 110 gr. Spire points have worked well, and other's have done quite well also.

Buy a box and give them a try, they'll probably do fine from a 1/10 barrel.

Seeing as the global liberals have fur almost worthless, a 110gr .308 at about twice the speed of sound will certainly anchor em rather quickly.
