Looking to Compete at the club..

Hey guys..What is the realistic range for shooting my 223 Daniel defense with a 18 inch barrel? I have been wanting to compete at some club level matches but don't want to be unrealistic..ya know?

I did just add a Nightforce 12-42x56 to my toolbox so that should help. Bought it from a site called scopelist.com and received a good deal and even better customer service. Anything else I should add to the list in the hopes of being competitive? (Besides a new rifle)

People are shooting 223 at 800, 900 and 1,000 yards in Palma Matches. Some of what you are asking really depends on the type of match? Once you have the match then the rifle and bullet weights based on barrel twist. The type of match determines the sights also. Just about everything will come down to your choice of match. Like I mentioned, with the right bullets, barrels and twist rates there are guys running 223 out to 1,000 yards.
