I was hoping that the SHOT Show in Las Vegas would bring forth a new compact semi from Ruger, in 9mm or larger. (And that could still happen, as the show is still going on.) Though I'm not that attracted to the .380 caliber, what they have just announced does look to be a cool-looking piece:
