Los Angeles Times blogger makes fool of herself

The inaccuracy is basically typical, but the speed and tone of the backlash is pretty impressive.

I'll bet ya Sarah can hit more targets with her shotgun than Ms. Journalist with her rapier wit and pen.

A very nice case example of the pen truly being mightier than the sword ... can you imagine a better was to discredit these media jerks than for them to do it to their selves.

:neener:

I don't think her point was to make fun of Palin, it sounds to me like she was wondering whether it was fair for Newsweek to use that stock photo to lead into a negative story about Palin.

I would say that she probably had the right idea, actually. Who cares if she's gun-illiterate? Her blog post was really a matter of political opinion, and she seemed to want a discussion on fairness of the media in dealing with a Vice-Presidential candidate.

Maybe we should be reading for substance instead of for shock value? But that's just how I took it. Was it a stupid comment? Yeah, totally. Was it fair to zero in on only that one comment? I don't think so, especially when many of us like McCain/Palin and might actually be concerned to read an article from a major "news" publication that portrays her in a negative light, beginning with a photo on the cover.

Sorry to go on so long, but this just seems petty to me.

Unbelievable.

FWIW, some years (decades?) ago, "Dear Abby" was using her column to call for a ban on handguns. In an effort to be reasonable, she insisted that " ... We don't want to take rifles away from duck hunters ...".

Nope. Reckon that was the game warden's job.

No kidding! I can't believe she called that a rifle when it's clearly a Glock Assault Weapon she's holding. You can tell because it's made to be spray-fired from the hip. ALWAYS FROM THE HIP, PEOPLE!

The comments on the blog back at her are some of the funniest replies I have ever read in my whole life!

They are making me proud!

I like this one... Which one of you wrote it?...

Good catch. That is a 50 caliber automatic street-sweeper cop-killer assault weapon. Not only could she have blown her foot off, she could've killed every human within a 1000 yard radius. Which she would've probably enjoyed, since she loves to kill things. She is terrifying, and I have nightmares about her every night.

Hold me.

Huge response from some very dedicated people more than willing to call the blogger for not knowing guns better. But overall, a bad response.

All comments aren't posted until approved by her. Maybe she's trying to point out there are a lot of bitter people clinging to their guns - which it certainly looks like. A win for her.

If my comments don't make it, I'll summarize them here. Anti-gun = racist, as the Dred Scott case was exactly about that -preventing blacks from owning guns. If they aren't human, then they have no civil rights. Once that fell apart, the Sheriff's permit scheme was implemented - and it's still working, but now you and I are included. Which, of course, means the decision maker doesn't trust us as we may be subhuman. But, at least we have equal rights.

Disclaimer - I'm a MO resident, we no longer have that system as of a few short years ago. But I've had to buy them that way. I understand many other places still do that.

LMAO This is funny stuff!!!

Hey, genius. That's a shotgun, not a rifle. And no, it can't fire when it's open.
Isn't it time for some warm pudding and beddie bye?"
or the other goodie:

Actually, it's a shotgun.
The LAT is showing it's usual commitment to accuracy."

That really made me laugh,boomvark.:)
Born Pauline Esther Friedman in Sioux City,Iowa on July,4 1918 ,Abby and her twin sister Esther, who became Anne Landers, dispensed a lot of good advice for half a century.
Sadly,both were ardent gun grabbers.
Anne, living her life in Chicago and Abby in San Francisco both seem have been infected by their locale's virus.
