So I'm buying myself a christmas gift this year, replacing the AK I sold during hard times.
Planning on a PSA AK, and I've had a Gen-2 Texas Weapons System rear cover hanging around.
They have one sight option available on their site. And even though I'm not opposed to it, $40 for a non-adjustable proprietary sight is a little rough when other platforms are getting some really nice fully-adjustable ones for considerably less. Especially when the sight hood is likely to be in the picture, and having the front sight off-center in that might cause problems.
Of course the market's flooded with flip-up AR sights, which I'm not opposed to since I do intend to toss a reflex sight on it, but most of them are definitely too high. And my searches so far only bring those up, without my basis of knowledge to specify other search terms.
So are there AR sights low enough to manage--or the lowest in general--or general-purpose sights that will work? Peep sights preferred, but an old-fashioned notch would be just fine otherwise.
