In case this hasn't been beaten to death already:

I recently got a can of Liquid Wrench PTFE Dry-Lube, and I'm getting hooked on the stuff. Spray it on slide rails (GENTLY) and they smooth right up with no sticky mess. Anyone else tried this stuff? The big claim is that it doesn't collect dust.

PTFE = Teflon. Teflon is DuPont's brand name.

Most good lubricants, when applied sparingly, won't attract enough gunk to cause problems. Also, just about any good lubricant that can resist high temperatures will keep guns happy.

I've been praising the Dupont "Performance Teflon Dry Lube" whenever lube questions come up. I clean my guns only when necessary and the fouling doesn't turn in to mud like with break-free or other oils, instead it just wipes right off.

It doesn't get cold here often, but one range trip where I really needed a coat makes me think it may not be a good lube in cold climates as the gun seemed "sluggish" for the first couple of shots, barely returning to battery, once it fired a few rounds and heated up it was fine, but I'm talking temps in the 40's so this may not be a universally good gun lube choice, is there such a thing?

As a firearms lubricant I've been using Mobil1, got me thinking now that perhaps a quart of one of the PTFE additives might be a decent choice.

im a big fan of molyfusion, and sweet shooters. used the sweetshooter on a rust bucket 60 yr old marlin 22 bolt i got of an auction. I mean thick rust. dunked and toothbrushed it once a day for 5 days. it no longer rusts, even if i leave it in my trunk, when it rains, and i forget it is in there.
