M&P 40/9 holster compatibility?

Does anyone here know if you can fit a 9mm M&P in a 40 s&W holster?
If you have both, would you check for me please?

I am getting an M&P holster but am finding loads more 40 than the 9. I wouldn't think the dimensions are that radically different that they won't fit the same holster...

Doesn't take much to be an almost fit. You will be happier if it fits properly.

They are identical.

What works for one, will work for the other. I have a Comptac CTAC (slide version) that I use for my M&P9, M&P40, and M&P9c. The same holster even fits my M&P45, however the plastic piece that is supposed to protect the gun from sweaty skin actuates the manual safety of my M&P45. If it wasn't for that, the CTAC would work on all four of my M&Ps.

Everywhere else that I've seen where you can order M&P holsters typically have the same holster listed for the 9 and 40 versions. I think they are built on the same frame.
