i need advice which one i should choose the m&p series or the sigma? i know the m&p series had rust issues & failure to feed & they dont have stainless steel mags either. the sigma has no rust issues & stainless steel mags someone please give me advice?

I have the Sigma with 0 problems and love it,I think most prefer the M & P but i have no experience with it,Sigma will be about 200 less

The ergonomics on the M&P are a world away from the Sigma. I am not a fan of either but i have shot both and the M&P is the clear winner between the two.

That being said, if price is a concern the poster above is correct. The Sigma will be much cheaper.

As owner of both, the M&P is my preferred pistol. It has a much better trigger and excellent ergonomics. The only exception would be in situations where you want a heavier trigger. Because of the heavier trigger, the Sigma could be considered "safer" and less prone to accidental discharge in an adrenaline charged situation. I will also say the Sigma is way underrated. Its a very competitive gun at its price point. Bud's has them for $299 delivered right now. Check them out at http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=13283

Try both. If you shoot the Sigma better (doubtful, but possible), consider it. Reliability of the newer Sigmas is supposedly OK. The older Sigmas were...not so good. Otherwise, though, the M&P is a very good gun. If your gun has problems, S&W will fix it. The customer service goes for both, obviously, but the general opinion is that the ergos on the Sigma are worse for most people. Advantage, M&P...but try both.

Once you get used to the Sigma trigger, it's not too terrible. Still feels bad, but I've gotten to where I'm actually good with it. If the M&P is out of your price range, the Sigma isn't a bad choice. But if you've got the money for the M&P, I'd spring for that.

what about glock? glock 19 or m&p all the way?

I figured you were deciding between .40 S&W guns, so the Glock 19 is out. You might mean the Glock 22, which, compared to the M&P, will run you around $100-$150 more (for a name, IMO).

I carry the sigma. the trigger does take some getting used to but it is not much different than a DA revolver. be sure to get a good holster,no cheap stuff. the sigma seems to feed and fire whatever brand weight and style of ammo i have tried in it (155-180g lead, tmj fmj.hp) factory and handload all feed and fire reliably. current carry round is the hydra shok 165g LE. I also find the sights easy to use.overall a good carry piece.
