M&P 9 shield am I the only one

I had problems with the grip on both the Shield and 9c.

I did not care for the feel of the Shield in my hand, and I thought the trigger was heavy. However, my local gun store stocks tons of these and they sell like crazy, so lots of people may like them. Guess it all depends on how it feels in your hand.

I do not find the Shield's grip front area (frontstrap) uncomfortable. In fact, I find the Shield to be by far the most ergonomic of all the current single-stack 9mm sub-compact offerings (Ruger LC9, Glock 43, SA XDS-9, Kel-Tec PF-9, even my beloved SIG P-938). Frankly, unless one has abnormally tiny hands, it would seem unlikely to me that any American male would find the grip of any current production single-stack 9mm semi-auto sub-compact to be "comfortable."

This is why some of us prefer to carry full-size pistols that we know we can shoot well rather than sacrifice effectiveness for more comfortable concealed carry.
Same for me. I'm a Glock guy but for single stack 9mm the Shield is my favorite. It isn't uncomfortable to me at all, and all I have is a set of Talon grip tape. Everyone's tastes and hands are different, though and that's why it's great there are so many different pistols out there!

Added some grip tape to the front and that seems to help.

Additionally, doea anyone know when the CCP will go back on sale?

I have never cared much for the Shield grip either. At least not the 9mm and 40 version. Haven't tried a 45.

My XDs is fine, and I see no reason to change.

I like(ed) my .40 Shield so much, I bought a 9mm when they started the $75 rebates deal. Got a notice my rebate check is "in the mail"...

The 9mm is a "shooter". Too...
I did put a an adhesive grip on the .40. Helps hold on to it. 9mm doesn't need it. Rather like the size. Concealable, but enough to hold on to.
I alsohave a Bodyguard. It's nice, but almost too big.
Alas, I still have the KelTec K32. It "fits" my back pockets!

The only single stack 9mm I have found that fits my hands well is a Sig P225.

I assume a P239 and any 1911 would work too. Any of the Shieldish size ones are a no go for me.

I have no problem with the grips on my Shield. Plenty of aftermarket grips out there if you like the gun.

My wife has one, grip is too thin for me.
Also, it is too big (for me) to be a pocket gun (Kahr PM9 much more suited to pocket).
As a belt pistol it is short on capacity, my shirt is untucked regardless of size pistol, and Glock 19/23/32 > single stack.

Interesting. I have very large (but not meaty) hands. I really like my wife's bersa 380, and the shield is close behind. Perhaps I've been "trained" by my time shooting a keltec p3at. Talk about a gun that sucks to hold...
