Hello,

I want a 1911. I am saving money for it. Haven't decided which yet.

In the mean time I want a 9mm polymer that I can shoot a lot and learn how to shoot.

The M&P along with a couple of others have been on my polymer list.

I have chance to buy a barely used M&P 9c for $424 out the door. I wish it were the one with the thumb safety, but it's not. A couple of hundred rounds have gone through it. I looked at and held the gun. It looks brand new. What do you all think? Is this a good deal?

Thank you very much,
Gene

My main carry gun for the last couple years has been a M&P 9c. I've fired thousands of trouble free rounds and the thing still looks and shoots like its brand new. It is a very easy shooting pistol. Recoil is minimal and accuracy is outstanding. I think that a very good deal for one.
Buy a supported holster for it. M preference is kydex. You don't want to have to fumble and wiggle to reholster a weapon with no safety and a relatively light trigger pull. I carry mine in a Peters Custom holster and it is fantastic. I also have a Raven Phantom for my P7 and it is very comparable. Many people like the Comptacs but the Kydex is a bit thicker and adds quite a bit to the bulk of the weapon in the belt and the M&P has a fat slide to begin with.
I hope you get it and are as pleased as I am with mine.

I thank the three of you. I got it! I will post pics soon. Looking forward to shooting it.

I cant really say that it is. I got mine used for $250. I got a steal though. It was one of those "a friend with guns needs money fast " deals.
It is a good little gun, you will enjoy it.

i would grab that up before someone else does. m&p's are great. my mp45c is my favorite polymer.

and sapper, that is an awesome buy.

I bought mine for $450.00 with 4 mags brand new. You're getting a good deal on a great gun, the only thing I did was get the trigger done. Here in The Peoples Republic of Massachusetts the M&P's have a 10 lb. trigger :what: that had to go quick, now it has a nice smooth 4lb pull :D

Trouble with my M&P 9C

I love my Smith & Wesson M&P 9mm C. The only problem is my slide release tends to stick and I really need to work it to get the slide to release. Does anyone else have this problem, and does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Glad you got it... great deal on a great pistol. I have one in both 9mm and 40S&W as well as a full-size in 40S&W. All are 100% reliable.

I think all the M&P are stiff in the area of the slide release. Every M&P I've handled takes a strong thumb to work it. Over time it does get easier, or your thumb gets stronger. :)

I just changed my technique and drop the slide with a slight pull to the rear on the slide at the same time.
