The trigger on my M&P 9mm is to hard to pull.... about 10lb. Who has springs or parts to make it 4-5lb? Is there a good web sight that has info on mods for the M&P?

Thanks Steve

hags, is right.

I have done this to my M&P 45 and was worth the effort. It's actually quite easy to do, just take your time. I installed a standard Glock (5lb) striker spring on my M&P and it made a noticeable difference as well. The stock M&P striker spring is very stout.

Where can I get a trigger return spring? Just holding the grip frame with the slide removed the trigger pull is at least 7lb, thats al in the return spring.

TeamAFX,

It's not the trigger return spring. The trigger pull on the M&P series is a combination of factors; how far the striker is moved rearward, the firing pin stop plunger spring, the angle of approach between the firing pin plunger and the trigger bar, and of course the striker spring itself. There is also some geometry involved. These are taken into account using the method detailed by Dan Burwell.

There is no benefit in changing just the trigger return spring.

three cheers for dan b. go to his web site and he even has step by step instructions on how to do the job right. ajb

If this is correct then you have something else wrong. With the slide removed the trigger pull should be very light and smooth, maybe 1lb or so. You need to get it checked out before you do anything else.

Thanks Hags, Thats what I needed. After about 1/2 hour of work it made a huge improvement. I still think a lighter return spring will help along with the other mods.

Thanks Steve
