My McCann industries M1 Garand adjustable gas system showed up today from Brownells:D

Does anybody have any experience installing one of these?
It looks like the old plug just unscrews and the McCann replaces it; can't be that easy, can it?

Also, should i locktite it?

I went with the Schuester valve but the McCann is simple. Use one of the five interchangeable jet screws depending on what you want to shoot. And yes just unscrew your Mil Spec Plug and install the McCann. Going back is just as simple.

Sure was, i just had to run out and buy a HUGE screwdriver!!!

Wierd though, the allen heads/ports aren't marked to allow easy identification of which one is what size...i'll probably have to mark them with a paint pen.

When you take the rifle to the range, bring the original gas cylinder plug and your screwdriver along, just in case. Carefully load a single round and test fire it, changing the jets as necessary, until it will lock the bolt open each shot. Once you accomplish that, you can load a full clip and try it.
