Attached is a video of my M1 Garand Suppressed with the gas plug adjusted properly. It runs great! Cycles like a boss now. Ejects brass properly and everything.
Imagine the GIs in WW2 having these!
Hybrid 46M suppressor and ASR muzzle brake. Fulton Armory gas lock adapter, and Schuster adjustable gas plug.

Well that's a shame. They were dirt cheap back then, and very effective. Here we are more than a century later and the military is finally waking up to the utility of these devices, even if governments still don't have a clue.

Poor Johns, Browning and Garand, they get so much credit and blame for stuff out of their control.
Garand started out in .30-06 because that was GI, then had to change to .276 to keep up with Pedersen, then had to change back to .30 because the Army wouldn't add a new caliber. And here we are now with a .277 only 90 years later.

If you don't mind me asking, how are you running the suppressor? Threaded gas block? custom barrel?

I have a 30 cal suppressor and a Garand, it would be a lovely combination lol

Fulton Armory makes a threaded gas lock that is extended to let you put a 5/8x24 muzzle device on it. I am using a Silencerco ASR 338 cal muzzle brake and a 46cal suppressor. I checked with a 30 cal suppressor alignment rod and it cleared the muzzle brake and suppressor just fine. I would buy a good 30cal alignment rod first. The worst thing is you just run it with a muzzle brake and enjoy 5.56 recoil from your 30-06!!

Gotcha. Thanks for the info.
I have alignment rods for my 30 cal and my 22 suppressors.

Next buy will be a .46 multi cal rated to hopefully use on my Garand and AK

Here's a free tech tip, you will probably not be able to get the threaded gas lock adapter to both line up with the gas plug and be tight against the barrel by hand, so I had to beat it tight with a mallet as I looked up a CMP fourm post and apparently that's how your are supposed to do it if it's close to being timed right. Like 4 o clock to 6 o clock. With 6 o clock being lined up with the gas plug hole. It was like 4:30 when it got tight by hand and it is rock solid even with the giant 46cal can on it.

That is pretty cool, thanks for sharing.

Imagine if suppressors had been in common military use in WW1, they likely wouldn't have been on the NFA because they would have been more prevalent and thus more accepted by everyone.

Yeah I figured I'd post actual video and details of what I did to get it running with a suppressor as people online seem to say oh yeah I put a suppressor on mine but never say exactly what they did to get it working.

YHM makes a quick detach mount for M14, I have one on my M1A and mount a 30 cal suppressor - YHM Resonator - on it that I also use on other 30 cal hosts. Very practical system, easy to move from host to host.

For those reading and thinking about following suit:

OP stated a properly adjusted gas system, but I want to emphasize the importance of that. This adjustment is CRITICAL with the M1 Garand and M1A to run suppressed. Too much gas, you may bend an op rod or even damage the receiver, especially with the Garand. There are a number of semi-autos that will tolerate suppressors with factory gas system settings with no real ill effects beyond more gas to your face, higher port noise and violent ejection, but these rifles can be damaged.

Great point, forgot about that. I installed a Schuster adjustable. Pretty sure I'm still a bit over gassed but my recollection is I barely adjusted it to cycle reliably.
