Mobil One Synthetic and its available anywhere that sells auto supplies or parts.

Where are the grease points? When I was issued M14, I only used oil! Now I see folks put on a lot of grease!

As I noted, less is more...use grease (or oil) sparingly. The hammer hooks are at the end opposite the indicated hammer camping surface. DO NOT LUBRICATE THE HAMMER HOOKS. Lubricating them may (and, likely, will cause double firing!)

I decided on Mobil 1 synthetic based on a local gun smith's recommendation. He said the color has an advantage. If you can see the color clearly, you're using too much.
