I have recently purchased a NIB Springfield Armory M1A stainless, loaded with a walnut stock, with selector cut. Are these any more valuable that what is currently being offered?

Not really. Maybe a few bucks more for those in NY.

Only to people in states where "pre-ban" means anything. In most of free America, "pre-ban" just means "really old", as you can buy the same thing NIB.
Concur re: the legalities, and it only being more valuable to people in places where state laws that piggybacked on the federal AWB are still in effect, or other such statutes are in force.
However, if it is a Springfield Armory M1A, it means it is probably from a time when their products included a higher proportion of USGI parts than they do now. This may cause it to command a higher price than another used gun to someone in the know. Or, it may not. One way or the other, don't expect the gun to be worth a whole lot of money, as compared to other M1As.

Military parts,bolt,op rod,barrel,trigger mech,you are more likely to find on a older pre-ban.Springfield Inc ran out of military parts and started using their made ones.Most say those run well also,but real GI would obviously be prefered.
Saw a M1A sell on Gunbroker last night,all "aftermarket Springfield parts on it except it had a HRA barrel,sold for close to 2k.Watched a minty older one sell last week with TRW bolt,everything else HRA it sold for 2k last week also.
Considering dealers have jacked up new ones to $1800 because of the *Obama scare* I'd rather get a older one with real GI parts for the same price.
I have 2,a standard and a NM both preban with all GI parts except reciever and they shoot like a dream.If dealers would come back down to reasonable prices say $1300,I might be inclined to buy just one more newer one.
