I finally got my Mother to go down to the range and take a handgun class, now shes interested in buying a weapon.
When she was taking the class we had a slight problem with reloading the magazine. Using a revolver and hitting targets was no issue, but loading a 9mm walther ended with a half dozen bullets on the floor, several guys scratching their heads, and her thumbs being swolen by the end of the day.
Best I can figure is its not learning the motions, but she just cant seem to force the bullets in without a great deal of trouble.
First thought was to talk her into a revolver: Well she prefers sleeker looking autos to revolvers, so My second thought would be to get some kind of speed loader... which will probly collect dust.
If she cant load she probly wont practice or keep it in any useable condition :banghead:
Third thought: I noticed on alot of .22 pistols they have a thumb knob on the side of the magazine, making it easy to pull the spring down and drop the bullets in.
While bouncing around the net I noticed lugers had a similar knob.
Does anyone know of modern automatics with a similar magazine?
Or for that matter, any tips to help someone with soft thumbs load more easily?
