CDNN is inconveniently out of the $10 10rd baby eagle mags and I'd like to know if there are other options available for me. I'd prefer full size mags but wouldn't mind 10 rounders for range use (not that carry is an option).

It seems like there is a way to change part of the gun to accept magazines from other guns. Magazines which are hopefully less expensive. Can someone explain this to me, or point me in the right direction for parts?

I would assume CZ-75 and/or EAA Witness mags work in a Baby Eagle (but you know what they say about assuming ;) )

If you're OK with the 10 round magazines, you can get 3 of them directly from Magnum Research for $60, so that's a pretty good deal since those are OEM magazines. Look under the Cyber Specials section on the main menu.

If you're looking for cheaper ones, or maybe the 15 round mags, check out the CZ Forums under the Clone section. I believe they have a mag compatability chart, which may be of help.

Magazines for the EAA Witness will work, but the follower may not provide hold open. The frames of the Witness and BE are both Tanfoglio.

I bought 2 10 rounders from CDNN for the Baby Eagle (3.5 inch barrel) and they shipped me EA Witness mags instead (they said there was no difference when I called). However, the Witness mags do not lock the slide to the rear. Otherwise they feed perfectly. Have since ordered directly from Magnum Research (13 rounders I think..since the ban lifted). A few exta bucks but they ship fast. (No slight on CDNN..I have had good service from them over the years).

Thank you for the suggestions everyone. I've noticed how the mags are usually listed together as "Eaa Witness/Baby Eagle" despite the differences.

15 rounds seems to be the factory high-cap mag size but I've come across 16 round EAA witness mags for the same price.

Slide locking problems aside, does anyone know if these would work?

I guess I'm a little late for this party, but here's my experience.

I used to own a Baby Eagle in .40, and I ordered three 12-round Witness mags from CDNN. They all fed just fine, but only one would lock the slide open during live fire.

I now own a Baby Eagle in 9mm, and I have one 16-round Witness mag. It's the same story; the mag feeds flawlessly but will not always lock the slide open. I have three factory 15-round mags so it's kind of a moot point but it is nice to know it will feed if I need it.

The newest Cyber-Specials on the Magnum Research site feature 3 15-round magazines for $70......a great deal if people need any of them.

Not to be funny, but I'll have to bite the bullet and order those mags from MR directly. They're still out of my budget although I found that the magazine that came with my Beagle holds 17 rounds, not 15, and also has polygonal rifling. My pistol was purchased new so it must have been old stock....
