Gun parts corp has some "originals" (no details on markings, so who knows if that means Armalite) for a good price. See or buy them here. Only $36.

I got rid of my Howa because I couldn't find good mags for a decent price years ago. This seems a hell of a deal if anyone still shoots their Costa Mesa, Howa or Sterling a lot.

Mags for the AR-180 are easily made from AR-15/M16 magazines. Tap in the mag catch bulge, cut a slot in the right side with a Dremel tool, and cut down the back of the magazine follower to work with the AR-180 hold open.

Takes about 10 minutes.

(No law violation, since the magazines will still work in the AR-15, which is the criterion BATFE uses in determining whether an alteration constitutes "manufacture" of a high capacity magazine.)

I always had issues with converted mags, even with good measuring and machining tools. Not obvious ones (ie: not a stoppage each 20 or 30 rounds), so at first I blamed the gun, but eventually I was able to determine it was mag-related.

Well, for what it's worth, I still have one plastic 30 rd mag that I forget to sell when I sold my Sterling 180. It's marked "TAPCO". Bought it in the early '80's.

Like new. Send me $40 and it's yours.
