Maine Non-Resident CCW permit

I know that Maine states non-resident permits are processed in 60 days, but wanted to know what the REAL time line is. If anyone has a recent experience please let me know.

Six Weeks

May first sent in, rec'd early to mid-June.

I don't remember exactly how long it took. A month or two?

pushed mine in under 4 weeks.....very cooperative staff there.............

CT Yankee and sjohn... WHEN did you apply? I know recently it has taken 6 - 8 weeks for resident, but I would not be surprised if they were processed the same way as non-resident... it makes sense.

Also, thank you for being responsible gun owners and CCW permit holders in our fine state.

I have one but it's got my old VA address on it and I live in PA now. According to the lady I talked to when I called to ask, my permit is no longer valid in Maine unless I send them a change form and pay a fee. I also think she said they needed a new photo as well. So just a heads up if you have one with an old address and you want to carry in Maine, please be sure you are legal.

Applied for permit June 2008 - took family up to Acadia for the week and needed to be good to carry in Maine...................I know - we won't get into the whole National Park thing..............
