...what to do?
Does anyone make a replacement rear sight? should I file the rear sight? Should I just get used to it?

Check www.makarov.com. They may have the replacement rear sight.

Makarov.com used to have a supply of them.
Some Maks were regulated for the original 95gr and some were for the 120gr ammo. There should be a number on the rear sight, somewhere. Tell Dr Bloss that number and the ammo you intend to use and he should be able to tell you what numbered sight to get as well as if he has any in stock!!
