Watched it a few times, is the security guy armed? Either way scary situation I have to say an elevator is just about the LAST place I would want to discharge a firearm.

EDIT: Its the officers gun that is used, that TOTALLY changes the way I viewed it. WOW not cool at all.

I feel somewhat disheartened that everyone flees and leaves the security/cop to fare on his own once they get a chance to save their own skin. If the security/cop didn't react the way he did as fast as he did, well...

I'm going to be irrational and say that it's the people's fault. :D

They just keep coming! But if I were that guy, I would have either forcefully closed the doors or just jetted out and used the stairs.

Am I the only one who's going to cry "fake" on this one?

They all look like actors to me, and the scene looks contrived. Maybe I'm wrong but until somebody shows me the police report in Cyrillic, I say it's a staged scene.

Security guard was on top of that one, BIG TIME. Guy grabs gun, guard yells, nutjacket changes his aim to guard, guard uses opportunity to grab arm, go to necklock and take the guy with the broken mainspring down, and there won't be any U.S. style lawsuits for excessive force. Course, it might- weren't any witnesses left.

Definitely fake. The people come in with metronomic timing, and the guy draws his gun in absolute frustration... just to scare some people by pointing it at them? Nah. If you're that close to the edge, you're shooting the instant the gun's pointed at someone, and you're CERTAINLY shooting when a security guard charges you threateningly. Unless the gun is fake or unloaded. But the people still entered the elevator with too much regularity.

Wonder what it's from though? What TV show?

Nope.

I am reminded of the line Elaine Benis delivered in one of the Seinfeld shows: "Fake (checkmark in air), fake (checkmark in air), fake (checkmark in air), fake (checkmark in air)!"

I am tired of seeing these put-up jobs. Frankly, I no longer trust any video or photograph.

Remember the "Iceberg" pic?

I spotted that one as a fake right away, and everyone thought I was nuts.

But I'm just not that gullible.

Oh, wait a minute. The word "gullible" is not in the dictionary. Sorry.

the scene looks contrived[/QUOTE

I do not know for sure but I am very suspicous. The lighting, the way several people look to the camera, and the way people just keep coming in and their positioning in the elevator just does not look correct.

As stated though I do not not know

Looks like an SNL skit. However, I would not put it by someone to snap and do just what this guy did.

It screams fake to me.

The "gunman's" actions are not believeable, if he wanted to hit the Door Close button that fast, he would have stood there and hit it, not moved to the far side of the elevator.

When the guard came at him, he did not fire, that was a "Flinch" time if ever I saw one.

There was no real confusion for the escapee's, they had all dont this before, and filed out nicely.

The Janitor's bucket looked empty to me, kinda hard to mop that way, and what was it doing in a public (not private) elevator during the day?

All that adds up to "fake" in my book.

How many shots were fired?? 7? 8? 10? How many wounded are lying on the elevator floor? Where's a trail of blood behind the escaping passengers? The security guard almost seemed "too fast" in his reaction to the gunman. Bruce Lee would be proud of him.

-EDIT-

Come to think of it, there probably wasn't any gunshots. I don't know for sure ... I hear things in there that sound like shots, but the overall video quality is poor.

Assuming the video or at least the situation could be real, this would make a good case for carrying with the safety on. (Open carry anyhow.) The gunman may have been trying to pull the trigger in the time before the security guard grabbed him, although I can't tell in the video.
