Anyone own or shoot one of these? I'd love to hear your experience and opinions of these if you have. They're supposed to be extremely rugged and reliable revolvers from what I've read. I'd like to own one if they're not terribly expensive but I don't think it's an easy revolver to find in the States.

Look around on the Internet. Some used French police Manhurin MR 73's have been for sale in the US recently. I think there has been one or more threads here about them; try the search function above.

They are powerful and rugged. Beloved by the euro cops who used them. Deadly stopping power, great accuracy, built like tanks... all with even better manufacture than the vaunted Colt's Python.

Many consider it the greatest combat .357 revolver EVER MADE.

I have one of the police turn ins, there is one on GB right now. Very well made gun, about the best double action pull I've seen, and I have a Python. I was shooting at the NRA Whittington Center with it recently and was hitting 6" plates at 50 yards regularly, and I'm not the best shot. For $500 or so you can't lose. Pristine commercial models go for about $3K+. The rubber grips that come with it look a bit different but are very comfortable.

The adjustable trigger is a nice feature. Don't let the wear on the turn ins scare you, some of these were in Africa but function fine. The bluing was as good or better as any Colt or S&W, there are still places on mine where you can see how good it was. These are up there with a Korth.

There are two outstanding weapons coming out of France Dorelac & Dorelac magazine rifles and Georges Granger SxS game guns for anything else look elsewere. It makes no sense to pick Python or Manurhin over classic S&W Combat Magnum.

Manurhins are still made.

That's a matter of opinion. S&W isn't as good as either of those IMHO.

I pick up one from AIM the last time they had them. I think they sold out of them in about three hours so you had to be quick or lucky. I had the choice of four different ones, three had loose lockups but good to very good finish and grips. The one I chose had vey worn finish and grips but it locked up very tight. When I shot it was wickedly accurate at any distance and had a very smooth trigger.

Because the finish was very worn and had some rust (they were supposedly from Africa) that I decided to have it professionally refinished. I found a set of new Manurhin grips which should fit. When it is done I will post pictures of it.

I have a 99% commercial target model. It is my favorite 357, and as an owner of a Korth, 1959 Python and Registered Magnum, I'd say it's the best overall 357 ever.

I have had a couple of the surplus models and they range from "pretty darn good" to "ew, gross." Some of them are really beat up.

Mine was semi-gross when I got it but I lubed the internals and adjusted the trigger, way better now.

It's a beautiful revolver I'm definitely gonna try to get one now. I'm a big fan of revolvers especially 357's I can't believe I never heard of these before last week.

Agreed, the part about best revolver ever. Just a little too rich for me at this time, but one day I will own one. Until then I'll have to make do with my Smiths and Rugers.

Pretty sure it was over when I said it was the best of the Top 4...

Maybe I should have flaunted a photo for no reason.;)

Well you did drop a few big names so...

Curious, why is there an extra cylinder with yours?
