I recently bought a sig p220 in SS. The gun shoots great.

I noticed that in the slide serrations grooves, there are cuts parallel to the serrations. It looks like machine marks since they are of even thickness and depth although the spacing is not consistent. They're deep enough that I don't think I can polish them out.

It is totally cosmetic, but I'm wondering if anyone else got a sig with those marks.

Yes, a lot of the SS Sigs lately have various tool marks. It doesn't affect anything, but you would think that as much as Sigs cost, they shouldn't be there.

Sorry no pics, I happen to be away from home right now.

Exactly. Sigs aren't cheap, but I was wondering if their QC was just taking a break when my gun passed by, or if this is a common thing.

I think their machines just need to be retired. My HK's do not have any parallel markings. It's very smooth.

I have something like this on the stainless sig, I can see the lines on the serration as well as the slide near the muzzle parallel slide front and back direction. I have some high resolution pics, but post yours and we'll see.

I won't be home for a week, unfortunately.

But what you're describing seems to match the markings on my sig exactly. I also noticed the line that goes lengthwise down the slide. I almost want to have Sig smooth it out (assuming they will,) but it happens to be the only pistol that I can trust.
