I just picked up a nice German P220 off Gunbroker, and the trigger is polished bright stainless or chrome. I am not a SIG expert by any means, but I don't recall seeing one like it before. I paid $600 shipped, and the only wear evident is on the barrel from being fired - the external finish is 98-99%, with only a couple of very light scratch-like markings on the slide. Manufacture date of the German eagle over N proofed frame is mid-1995; the German slide and barrel are not proofed, and the grips have the clock-like date marking for 11/91, suggesting it was made in Germany and assembled here. I am really pleased with it, but I was wondering if anyone can tell me about the bright trigger. I have become a SIG addict of late...
Thanks!

It's aftermarket. Either manufactured or custom refinished

SIG has never offered a stainless trigger and has never chromed triggers on factory pistols

I was pretty sure of that. I found a SIG forum & posted the question there & will share whatever I can find. But, boy, do I like this pistol!

Seems like they did have nickeled trigger, etc. NYPD trade ins, like this one, have a nickeled hammer, trigger, takedown lever, and decocker. This is my P226 as I got it. I changed it to DA/SA with a new factory nickel hammer (The original was nickel too) and factory nickel decocker lever. I have seen way too many NYPD trade ins with nickel controls for them not to have come that way.

Congrats, it looks like the Sig SRT and some one took a polishing wheel to it, excellent weapon and a good deal anyway, when my back is not hurting like now days a 220 is my EDC, hurting back is a Shield .45 LOL.

I would agree, it's been refinished, and the trigger has been polished, if it was nickel, or the finish was polished off of it. Nice shooter, if nothing else.

I love the P220, and I am anxiously awaiting to see what the P220 Legion is going to be like. I have the P226 SAO Legion and absolutely love it, but a P220 Legion... Oh man!

Congrats on a great gun at a great price. Sheesh! $600 shipped is a great deal IMHO especially with some of the mods. She looks beautiful and rock solid considering her age. Very awesome, I'm jealous!
