Hello, I just purchased a used marlin 917v and it is light striking the primers. I intend on cleaning it thoroughly and if that doesn't do it replacing the firing pin and striker spring. Is there ANYTHING else that could be causing it to light strike? has anyone else had this same problem? Please help!

Thanks, Dave

I had a similar problem with a 925. I never did get it fixed. I sold the rifle making sure the buyer knew about the problem. It was still under warranty so he can get it fixed easy enough. I did talk to Marlin about it. They weren't helpful at all. I figured I was going to have to send it in for service. But I never got around to doing it.
