Quick question, is a Marlin 41 magnum rifle worth approximately $2000. I've just been looking at them on GB. It doesn't matter if they are JM stamped or MR serial #. Their prices seem to settle in the $2000 range, some a bit higher. Not too many in the sold category on GB. Personally, I don't see them ever reducing in price but I wouldn't mind some other points of view.
Thanks

I just received that punch in the stomach last week when I searched the same thing. I’d like to find a 20” Henry big boy steel but they are also discontinued. I’ve got my fingers crossed that the new Marlins will have the 41mag in the lineup

Sorry to hear they’re discontinued. I have one and it’s pretty fantastic. If I had known then what I’m reading now I’d have gotten a .357 as well.

Here's mine, a Marlin 1894S in .41 Mag. It was a GB auction item in Sept. 2019 and I paid $1300 for it...about what they were going for at the time. Mine was in 'excellent/fine' condition at the time.

It's been a solid rifle for me, have used it for several seasons for KY deer with three kills out to 80 yds. Hornady 210 XTPs for that kind of hunting and hand cast LSWC's of RCBS mold variety for practice. The LSWC's are kept to ~1200 fps for accuracy and zero leading in the Micro Groove rifling.

Here's the Marlin...I've replaced the safety with one of Mercantile's drop in saddle rings (a 10 minute job but the butt stock has to come off to do it). I've also installed a Williams FP receiver sight (in pic) and also tried a Skinner Peep...both with good results, with the original factory front sight...(the Williams is better for my use while working up loads, but the Skinner has a lower profile that some might prefer.)

Best regards, Rod

The C models command a higher price, usually, than the FG (pistol grip) models... the C's are older and more 'Marliny' than the not so 'Marliny' FG. $2000 is a bit of a stretch, but I think that is a result of market demand... real or perceived. Because .41 rifles are a very niche item, with rabid fans like me looking for them, sellers put ridiculous prices on them and just wait. They 'know what they got!' ...which is sort of true.

Besides my AR's, my .41 Marlin is probably my most used rifle in the fleet... I LOVE this thing. Would I spend $2000 on one if I didn't already have one? That's a hard question to answer...

Back in the '90's, I searched far and wide for a C model... but always came up empty handed. Around 2003 (...or so?) when they dropped the FG, I burned a hole in my wallet ordering one off GB as fast as I could. The only regret was not buying 693 of them, instead of just one. I paid $429 for mine. Like Rod's, I've got a Williams FP on it, but I also converted mine to a straight grip with parts from a 336. Obviously, the forearm didn't fit right, so it still retains the porky FG forearm with the ugly checkering....

Posing with the Dan Wesson... another Unobtanium .41 firearm...

I have that same Dan Wesson. Didn't get the Marlin though. I did get the Henry in .41 mag as soon as I found one available. 41 is such a niche cartridge that I wondered how long they would produce them.

Not to me, but evidently they are to enough of the people buying them.

Using the GB search engine, you can go back on a particular firearm and see how many times it's been listed. I don't know if it's in violation of GB's rules, but you could PM the seller and see if they would be willing to come down if it's been relisted a bunch of times. Someone straighten me out on that if that's prohibited, I don't do GB that much.

I concur

I would love to have one, especially the "C" model. But, it will never happen at $2 grand.
That is insanity.

Unfortunately that violates the GB user agreement. You need a way to contact them from outside of the GB universe.

Where in the GB rules does it say you can't PM a seller with an offer below their listed price? You can't conduct the transaction outside of GB, but they can absolutely adjust their BIN price to reflect your offer.

There was one on a local firearms auction last October that sold for $1600.

I think you are right. I initially interpreted the described transaction as a "side deal" but after re-reading the site rules I think you are correct.
