Marlin Camp 45 question

I don't know anything about the stocks you asked about.

I did want to make sure you know that you need to replace the original factory recoil spring with a Wolf 21# pound spring and replace the original factory buffer with a Blakcjack buffer as well.

As they came from the factory the Marlin Camp 45's are undersprung and original buffers take a beating and break. If you don't replace the buffer and spring, and use a heavier spring, you will crack the factory wood stock.

Even if you switch stocks, you can still get damage to internal parts if you don't replace the spring and buffer.

I use the Choate folder with mine. It has not cracked. Neither did the original wood either. I normally use stronger recoil springs in my 45's. I really don't remember what I have in it right now.

Can't speak to the Ramline. I have always had an affinity for Choate products.

Good luck.

Camp Carbine

I agree with the recommendation to upgrade the spring and replace the buffer. Remember that the Camp Carbine has an unusual two-piece feed ramp. When you reassemble the weapon, be sure that the bottom, hinged part of the feed ramp is riding on top of the the upper edge of the magazine well. If you are not careful, it will slip down in front of the mag well and rounds will not feed from the magazine.

I put the Choate stock on mine, and highly recommend it.

Hey thanks for the heads-up, the ram-line stocks aren't too bad, I had one on a mini-30 years ago, let ya know how this one feels.
