You simply cannot go wrong with a Model 60....
Mine was given to me by a friend before he died. It had a junk 4x scope on it. I got a deal on a Tasco 3-9x Pronghorn ($30, new), then proceeded to try every brand of ammo I could get(except Remington, which I've never had good luck with in a .22).
I've put 5000 rounds through it now, best ammo (FOR ME) has been:
Wolf Match Target (crazy accurate, and VERY consistant)
Winchester T-22s
Federal "Classic"Gold Label
None of the "high-velocity" stuff was as good, but none was really bad either.
With Wolf Match Target I can CONSISTENTLY shoot (10 shot) groups you can cover witha dime (<1/2" center to center) at 50 yards. YMMV, try a variety of different ammo.
Mine's NEVER been dissasembled for cleaning. Every 1500-2000 rounds I remove the action from the stock, hose it down with Brak-leen, lube it up, and put it back in the stock. (I'm actually afraid to do much more, as I don't wanna lose the accuracy!)
