martini conversion

Hi all,
I have a .310 cadet martini rifle that I want to convert to a different calibre.
I already have a .22bolt action,a 17 remington and a .243.I am thinking that perhaps a .17 ackley in hornet or bee???? Something that would fill the gap between .22 and 17 rem.Your thoughts?
