Has anyone here used Mastercast ammo? The prices are very good and quite honestly I am going broke buying ammo. I am wondering if it is accurate, safe and reliable.

I'm on round 10,000+ in every caliber (and most bullet types and weights!) that mastercast sells. It is accurate, very reliable, albeit a bit dirty ammo.

I have used them for 500 rounds so far of .40, .45, & .357 mag with good results. It is good ammo with a slightly softer reciol & good reliability. I figured with all cost like tax and all shipping it is about $12 for 50 rounds of thier FMJ with a case exchange in all the above calibers. Turn around time varies for me it was 2 wks one year ago.
Do they actually load THE cases you sent them, or is it strictly trade in, you get anybody's cases back? I sort my range brass by headstamp, and I'll send my best brass if I'm going to get it back, otherwise, it's an opportunity to get rid of the "variety" bucket of less common (but still perfectly servicable) headstamps (10 of this, 20 of that, vs the bucket of 2000 winchester or federal).
it's trade in. you aren't guaranteed the same brass back. but they are definitely a fantastic company for ammo. I've been using them for a few years.
Just about ready. Currently doing homework/research on press selection. Thinking hard about using mastercast in the interim to save on ammo.

I'll toss in a plug for the Dillon 550B setup. I've reloaded something like 350 rounds of .45ACP on a Lee progressive that I was given (yes, for free but they owed me a favour or two) and about 3500 rounds of .38 and 9mm on the gently used Dillon 550B that I paid for. Hands down the Dillon is the nicer machine that has given me much better results.
Mind you part of this was the learning curve. But still, the Dillon is nicer to use and I like the manual indexing much better than the force progressive stepping of the Lee. In fact I only loaded about 100 to 150 rounds in the full progressive mode before I took out the indexing shaft since it wasn't working properly. Also with auto indexing if you run into an issue it's impossible to back up. Something I find I'm doing often enough when manually indexing for whatever reason that it's well worth it.

I have purchased 4 separate orders from them during the past 2 years; they produce good products with good prices on most calibers (when you factor in shipping costs when sending in your brass and on the products being sent back 9mm parabellum isn't very cost effective when priced against WalMart ammunition); the majority of what I have ordered is the following: .38 spl 158gr lswc; .357 mag 158gr lswc; .44 mag 240gr lswc; .44 spl 240gr lswc; my last order included 9mm 115gr tcj & 147gr tcj...both are good products and function well in my Beretta 92FS with good accuracy
I have 1 quam... buyer beware as to the useful life of the brass in their reloads...I have had several nickel plated .357 mag casing crack after I shot them; also 1 brass .44 spl casing & 1 brass .44 mag casing have cracked; I account these cracks to brass that has been reloaded several times and that is at the end of its useful life; the employees quality check incoming brass do their best to eliminate worn out brass before reloading it again
