I need some advice. I'll be buying a Weaver scope, and some of the models are only available in matte. The rifle is a new Winchester M70 Classic LT, which has a gloss finish. Rings aren't a problem - I can get gloss or matte. The question is: does a matte scope look okay on a gloss rifle, or should the scope be gloss?
Why Weaver? I have an old, damaged K-4, and the new Weaver company is offering a trade-in of half the value of the new model's MSRP. Since mine's broken, it sounds like a good deal to me.
If I get a new K-4, I can get gloss. If I want a Grand Slam, though, I'll need to get matte. Almost the whole reason I bought the M70 was for its looks, so I don't want to mess that up. Taste advice, please.
