I don't remember as it has been quite a few years since I had to remove the locktite from mine. I think I used a small butane cigar lighter as that is what I had on hand.

Hopefully I won't have to use a lighter. But if I need more heat to break the locktite, at least I have one somewhere. I will try the hair dryer first. The squeaky magazine spring bothers me more than the uncomfortable LOP.
 
Update on this project: I cut the buttstock myself and put a limbsaver on instead of the stock pad. Got myself a drill press for gunsmithing school so I will tap it (or attempt to) myself. The school will provide 6-48 tap and screws.

Getting off the magazine tube was the biggest issue. Used a heat gun and a strap wrench on the vised receiver. Found RED loctite inside the threads. Was not too pleased with that but got it done anyway. Replaced the mag spring as none of the oils or greases I have on hand did anything to reduce the squeaking.
